Daniel Ricci, English and Portuguese Tutor

Want to learn
Portuguese? English?

Hi, I’m Daniel! I teach Brazilian Portuguese and English as a second language.

If you are a neurodivergent learner with a diagnosis of Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, or other co-occurring conditions that would impact your learning, I offer lessons designed especially for you using a clear, structured, and supportive approach. With academic training in Autism and Inclusion from University College Cork and professional experience in education and communication, I tailor my lessons to make learning more comfortable, accessible, and effective.

Many traditional courses can feel too fast, overwhelming, or unclear. Neurodivergent learners often face challenges related to auditory overload, excessive information, social anxiety, unclear expectations, and negative past learning experiences. For this reason, lessons are designed with:
  • predictable and objective structure
  • slower pace and clearer speech
  • literal explanations of idioms and slang
  • visual support and organised materials
  • step-by-step scripts and exercises
  • a low-pressure environment with no forced speaking
  • focus on confidence, safety, and autonomy

Who am I?

I’m a native Portuguese speaker from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, now based in Ireland since 2018. Over the years, I have supported English speakers in starting their Portuguese journey, while also helping learners of different levels build confidence and fluency in English.

My teaching background includes roles with SESC, a nationwide educational organisation in Brazil, as well as with established language schools such as Rockfeller and Wizard. I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults across one-to-one lessons, group classes, and corporate training programmes, adapting my approach to each learner’s goals and pace.

Having lived in New Zealand, the USA, and Ireland, I bring a strong intercultural perspective to my teaching, helping students navigate not only the language, but also the context in which it is used.

I hold a Master’s degree in Communications (Journalism) from Brazil and a Level 8 Higher Diploma in Autism, Neurodiversity and Inclusion from University College Cork, which informs my inclusive and student-centred approach.
